MN Architect Sessions 2.1

Chapter Event

On May 18th, the Minnesota Chapter of the International Association of Software Architects will be hosting IT Architecture Sessions 2.1. The event will begin with a networking session followed by Roger Sessions the CTO of ObjectWatch. This is a free event open to anyone interested in the field of IT architecture.

Object Watch - Chief Technoloy Officer
Roger Sessions is a leading thinker in Systems Architecture and Complexity Analytics. He is the CTO of ObjectWatch, a company he founded 13 years ago, a Fellow of the International Association of Software Architects, and President of the Consortium for Untangling Enterprise Complexity (CUEC). He has written seven books including his most recent, Simple Architectures for Complex Enterprises, many articles and white papers.   His most recent white paper is The IT Complexity Crisis; Danger and Opportunity. Sessions has a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania. 

The IT Complexity Crisis
The world economy is losing over six trillion USD per year to IT failures and the problem is getting worse. The problem is out-of-control IT complexity. This talk analyzes the problem of IT complexity is detail. It describes how business and IT working together under the auspices of Enterprise Architecture can dramatically reduce complexity while improving security, performance, agility, and most important of all, profitability. IT complexity robs companies of their competitive edge. An strategy of enterprise simplification can be the most cost effective way to improve efficiency in almost every area of the enterprise, especially IT. And enterprise architects must take the leadership making this happen.
