Conference Overview

The IT Architect Regional Conference 2007 (ITARC) is the premier IT architect educational event of the year. Co-sponsored by the International Association of Software Architects (IASA) and the IASA Atlanta chapter, this conference will take place September 13-14, 2007 to provide high-level, professional education and training for the fast-growing and ever-changing IT architecture community.

Call for Presentations

Submission deadline for speaking at the event is Friday June 29th. Final speaker selections will be posted on the event website: http://www.iasahome.org/web/Atlanta/ITARC2007 the first week of July. This is your last chance for this year’s event so get your title and abstract in now.
We are particularly looking for topics in the following areas, though we’d be thrilled to hear your ideas:

  • Showing the value of IT architecture to business and executive management
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders (presentation, viewpoint, views, and communication techniques)
  • Patterns and practices from the field
  • Professional guidance (Becoming an architect, Top 10 Resources, mentoring)
  • Quality Attributes (Security, Performance, Reliability, Usability, Flexability, etc)
  • Technology impact and value (portals, rules, SOA, SCA, identity management, information management, architecture toolsets, integration persistence)
Even if you cannot speak at the event, please plan on attending.  Remember the event is being put on by local architects to benefit you directly.

  • Proceeds go to supporting local architecture services and education.
  • Prices are set at cost for attendees ($350 for IASA members, $450 for non-members) so that you and your organization don’t have to pay $1600+ for a architecture event.
  • Attendance is from the local area so networking will definitely pay off.

Requirements

Your ITARC presentation should focus on a body of work relevant to the IT Architecture function, and must be appropriate for one of the following categories: Enterprise Architecture; Infrastructure Architecture; Software Architecture; and Fundamentals Architecture.

Your application will be reviewed by a designated committee on the chapter level. Criteria will include technical relevance of session abstract and quality, usefulness of topic, discussion of business benefits, and ROI.

All presentations must be written and presented in English. Sessions are 1 hour and 15 minutes in length. You can view the current workshop line-up (by category) by clicking here.
