Knowledge Communities

Knowledge Community is a community of experts who provide guidance and support for  a particular IT Architecture Topic, edited by the experts in the field. Contributions come from all over the world but the editors keep the content relevant and focused.

The IASA adapted Knowledge Communities from the model used by the AIA (American Institute of Architects). Although the AIA is for building architects, the IASA knows a brilliant idea when we see it and we’re happy to introduce the Knowledge Communities to the IASA. Most IASA members will participate in a community by subscribing to the mailing list, RSS feeds, etc, which are provided by the IASA portal. If you feel you would like to contribute content to a community, please contact the editors from the community and send them you.

Knowledge Communities are created based on need and availability of a qualified editorial team. The following process will be used to ensure quality:

  1. A community request is initiated
  2. A standing committee of the Board of Advisors approves the request.
  3. A call or committers is put out to the IASA membership and the architecture community.
  4. Volunteers are reviewed as needed until minimum  contributor requirements are met.
  5. Initial content contributions are solicited/created.
  6. The website is created and populated with content.
  7. The community is reviewed on a semi-annual basis to ensure quality.
