Certification

The Certification Committee is formed from volunteer members of the Board of Education. The committee is responsible for developing and managing the official IASA Certifications in addition to the following responsibilities:

  • Selection and approval of IASA certifying chapters
  • Review and approval of certification standards
  • Co-Responsibility for IASA skills taxonomy

The committee meets weekly on conference calls and in person. Committee members are given free IASA membership and many other benefits.

Scott Andersen, Chairman of Board of Education

For most of my career at Microsoft I have been focused on helping customer's complete technology transformations. Primarily focusing on helping customer's migrate off of Lotus Notes/Lotus Domino. I am a leader in the architect community at Microsoft and was the first owner of the architect role for TechReady 1 and 2. Member of the Microsoft Certified Architect Board of Directors. Joseph DeCarlo, Committee Chairman, Turner Broadcasting

 

Joseph DeCarlo is a Solution Architect at Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. His team designs frameworks and products for the many development teams to leverage to achieve consistency and interoperability across them. Joseph has twelve years of IT experience and has worked for many companies including Avanade, Pivotal, and Synovus. Joseph is a Microsoft Certified Architect and serves on the Board of Directors for the program. Joseph also serves on the Board of Directors for IASA, Atlanta chapter.

Timothy Leonard, President, IASA Global

Timothy Leonard, has over 21 years experience in strategic planning, program management, designing, building, and supporting IT solutions founded on a strict adherence to model based/model managed architectural disciplines. A published author and industry speaker, he combines strategic vision, enterprise modeling expertise, program management and group facilitation skills to design and implement data warehouse, BI and data architecture solutions for Fortune 500 companies. He is the Inventor and Patent Holder(6,085,171) of The Order Entry System for Changing Services supports Communications Services. Mr. Leonard is a featured speaker at industry and vendor events such as TDWI, DAMA, and Informatica's " Positioning your System for 64-Bit Architecture Design " nationwide seminar tour.

Gar Mac Criosta, President, IASA Ireland

 

Matt Deacon, President, IASA UK

Matt works as an Architect in the Developer and Platform Evangelism group at Microsoft UK with particular interests in Enterprise Architecture, Frameworks, Modelling, Patterns and Process. He has over 15 years experience in the IT industry delivering many mission critical enterprise solutions on both Microsoft and Java platforms. As founder and president of the UK IASA Chapter his focus is to develop and foster and informed and active community of architects within the UK IT industry.

Brandon Satrom, President, IASA Austin

Technology visionary with ten years of experience delivering software, solutions, architecture and strategy to organizations of all sizes. Experienced in enterprise-scale architectures and distributed systems running on the Microsoft platform, specifically SharePoint, C#, BizTalk, Windows Workflow Foundation, Windows Communication Foundation and SQL Server. Skilled in the development and deployment of Line of Business and Third-Party applications along with the integration of these systems with other key technologies and applications. Well-versed in business and technology strategic planning and visioning, as well as best practices for driving business vision and direction to execution via the selection of key technology projects and investments.

Onn Chee, President, IASA Singapore

Onn Chee is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer in Resolvo Systems, a leading information leakage expert in Asia. He has led numerous large-scale projects, primarily in the government and defence sectors. His areas of expertise include information leakage protection, web security and security strategy.

Onn Chee is a founding member and the first Vice-President of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), Singapore Chapter (http://www.issa.org.sg), the largest international, not-for-profit association for security professionals. He was also a former member of the Center of Internet Security (US) (http://www.cisecurity.org) which provides well-recognised security benchmarks for various systems which are commonly used by US Federal Government and private organisations.
Onn Chee is also the current Singapore chapter lead of Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) (http://www.owasp.org/) which publishes the widely respected OWASP Top 10 web vulnerabilities. Onn Chee also organises the Security Meetup Group in Singapore and has been frequently invited to speak in information security conferences here in Singapore. Onn Chee also contributes to articles to ISSA Journal which is circulated globally.

In 2007, Onn Chee was appointed as the President of International Association of Software Architect (IASA), Singapore Chapter.
