Foundation Supporting Skills - Key Survival Factor for All IT Architects
Design - Architects commonly use design skills to solve problems and develop technology strategy solutions.

Quality Attributes - Quality Attributes represent cross-cutting concerns in technology solutions such as Performance, security, manageability, etc that must be considered across the entire enterprise technology strategy space.

IT Environment - Technology strategy must include a general knowledge of the IT space including application development, operations, infrastructure, data/information management, quality assurance, and project management. The IT Envi-ronment skills prepare an IT Architect for the IT side of a technology strategists job function.

Human Dynamics - Much of an architects daily role is working with other stakeholders to understand and define the technology strategy of the organization. The human dynamics skills represent the means for working with others in the organization including situational awareness, politics, communication and leadership.

 Exam Format:

  • Randomized questions taken from question database and refreshed twice a year
  • Covers introductions to the 5 foundation pillars and multiple-choice questions within 100 minutes time limit
  • Open book examination but NO cell-phones or computers allowed during the exam

Training

The Foundation Certification covers the materials from the IASA intensive 8 day Foundation Training Course. The course is broken up into 2 parts: IT Architecture Foundation 101 and IT Architecture Foundation 102. IASA offers each course in both online e-learning as well as taught in person at recognized training locations around the world.

Each day student will receive 5-6 hours of knowledge training and demos and 2-3 hours of workshops. Students will be expected to demonstrate key skills. Students who enroll classroom training will receive a complimentary exam voucher and certification worth USD250.
