Microsoft Learning is no longer offering the Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA) Infrastructure and MCA Solutions certifications. For the individuals that have earned one of these credentials as of April 2010, Microsoft is offering and funding:

A streamlined process for earning your Certified IT Architect at the Professional level (CITA-P) with the International Association of Software Architects (IASA) and a one year membership fee in the IASA IT Architect program at the Global level (highest level)

Those that register for the CITA-P Granfathering by the end of May will receive 3 years of IASA membership.

The IASA community has created a grandfathering process to allow easy adoption of the CITA-P certification. As you have already gone through a rigorous interview process to earn your MCA Infrastructure or MCA Solution, the grandfathering process will focus on mapping your skills and experience to the IASA skills taxonomy. There will be a phone interview to review the document you submitted, clarify any questions you may have, and discuss a mitigation strategy to grow any pillars or capabilities you may feel inclined to strengthen.

To schedule the interview with IASA:

1. Fill out the form below to register for the MCA to CITA-P grandfathering process.
2. Andy Ruth will validate your MCP ID and MCA credential and email you back a Self Assessment and Candidate Proficiency document
3. You will return the completed Self Assessment and Candidate Proficiency document and schedule your interview during one of the standing interview slots. The standing meetings are scheduled every Thursday evening 17:00-19:00 PST (UTC -08:00, 2 candidates per week). If these standing meetings will not work, contact Andy Ruth directly for scheduling.
4. Attend the virtual interview
Andy Ruth will primarily be conducting the interviews although one or more members of IASA's Board of Education (BOE) may participate or monitor.
