This month, we packed our chapter meeting with two explosive speakers - Mr. Yap Ke Lip from NuzoSystem Sdb Bhd and Mr. Liang Yong Soon from Persys Technologies Berhad. The two speakers has extensive experience in architecting solutions in FSI industry. Presenting Architecture as topic, Ke Lip explored the existing architectural frameworks and how to use them, and distinguished the thin line between a practical approach in capturing architecture and the death march of over documentation. in the Insights from a FSI Architect, Mr. Liang shared his story and learning over years of solutions projects in FSI organizations. it was an eye opener when he shared some of the common mistakes that architects made when developing enterprise level solutions.

In April's chapter meeting, we have managed to invite Mr. Aaron Tan Dani, chairman of IASA Asia Pacific to deliver Strategic Enterprise Architecture. The session share the concept between business strategy and architecture strategy and highlighted important aspects on business drivers, key issues to consider when planning an architecture initiative.
We have also managed to invite Dr. Timothy Nam, GM of DKSH Technology Sdn Bhd to give an Overview of SOA for Enterprise Architects. The session gave overall understanding of SOA and a few pointers for enterprise architects in approaching SOA implementation in their organization.

This month, we re-invite the ever popular and dynamic duo - Mr. Sunil Dutt Jha and Mr. Pasi Karjanmaa to continue sharing their deep knowledge of enterprise architecture with us. Sunil delivered Reference Model for Layered Architecture enabling Business Components & Services which pointed out key learning of retaining key architecture decisions in layered approach. Pasi then shared Software Factory & Domain Specific Languages which gave us a glimpse into the new era of model driven software development.
