Architecture: Where do you start? Monday 9th March, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM (GMT) Click here to register One of the hardest things about software development is being asked to come up with a design when all you are given is a set of requirements and a blank sheet of paper. Many software teams will dive straight into the code and while this can initially be very productive, the slippery slope of constant refactoring is awaiting those teams that haven't quite found a design that works. Often, a little forethought is all that's needed to get the development process heading in the right direction. So where do you start? This session will answer this question, presenting some simple techniques for tackling software architecture while dispelling the myths about the need for complex tools and big design up front. 18:00 Welcome and IASA update 18:30 Where do you start? 19:30 Pizza delivered by Microsoft 20:00 Where do you start cont'd 21:00 Drinks reception hosted by Onalytica Location: Onalytica Ltd 29th floor centre point 103 new oxford street WC1A 1DD London United Kingdom Click here to register Depending on your viewpoint, Simon is either a software architect who codes or a software developer who understands architecture. When he's not developing software with .NET or Java, Simon can usually be found consulting, coaching or training. Simon has also written books about Java, presented at industry events and has put together a training course called Software architecture for developers, which is based upon his software architecture writing at Coding the Architecture. |
